New Dress

Sabrina loves wearing dresses and there hasn't been much in the stores that Sabrina and I both have liked. So I asked my mom if she could make Sabrina some dresses. My mom was a home education teacher by profession and has sewn for over 40 years. As a child or teenager, I never truly appreciated mom's skills. However, mom has made Sabrina a variety of items since she was born including blankets, quilts, taggies, dresses and a pants suit. God has given her a special gift with sewing and I really appreciate the quality items she creates. We received the first one in the mail a few days ago. Sabrina put it on right away and loved the matching purse. Thanks Nanny!

Swimming Lessons

Today was the last day of swimming lessons. Sabrina has been in the Crocodile level which is the third of four unparented levels for children ages 3 to 5. You have to be 6 years old to register in the SwimKids program. She worked hard over the past 5 weeks and passed this level first time through! She loves the water and is definitely a fish.

Portraits Spring 2011

Sabrina had her portraits done at Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago and we received the photos and CD today. Our photographer was awesome and Sabrina was very cooperative. There are some very creative shots.

Sabrina's 4th Birthday!

Four years ago this morning, Sabrina was born 40 hours after I was induced and eventually had a C-Section. In some ways, that just seems like yesterday. She has become an amazing little girl who enjoys life to the fullest. Here is a photo from the day she was born and celebrating her 4th birthday over the past weekend.

Conversations with a 4 year old

I was tucking Sabrina into bed when she asked for a story. I told her that I would tell her a story but wouldn't read a book as she had wanted to play hide and seek rather than have a story.
Sabrina: "Tell me a Jesus story. The garden one."
Angela: "When Jesus is praying in the garden?"
Sabrina: "Yes."
So, I tell her about Jesus praying, Judas and the soldiers arresting Jesus and beating him up.
Sabrina: "Don't forget about them putting his feet on the cross."

It is amazing what children remember and learn. It is so true that children have an innocent faith regarding Jesus and His amazing love.

Earlier in the evening, we played hide and seek this evening. I was hiding under the stairs in the storage room and Sabrina had finished counting.
Sabrina: "Mommy, I know you are up stairs." She goes up the stairs and looks around. Then hollers. "Mommy, where are you?" I wait it out as Sabrina has a tendency to give up looking quickly. She comes downstairs and looks around quickly. Then she asks Scott, "Daddy, where is Mommy?"

Scott: "She has to be somewhere in the house. Where did you look?"
Sabrina: "I think she is upstairs."  As they are looking in closets, etc,
Scott: "Do you think Mommy is in here?"
Sabrina: "No, Mommy has big arms and legs."

Childhood Memories

I haven't kept up with daily photos but have taken several a week. This one is from last night. Sabrina is transferring the items from her pink/yellow purse to the blue bag. The blue bag was made by my mother for me when I was about Sabrina's age.
